Salt Workshop
Valle Salado » Experiences » Salt Workshop
The salt workshop offers the opportunity to experience in a fun and playful way how salt is produced in the Salt Valley. This is an ideal experience to enjoy with your family or schoolmates. For a day you will be the real protagonist of the salt mines and you will learn the salt maker’s trade.
In a specially enabled area of the salt farms, a guide will teach you the various stages in the production of the “white gold”: filling the salt-pans with brine; using the scoop; stirring the salt water with the rollers; collect salt in the baskets; “entrojar” or taking the salt to the warehouses. Furthermore, you will learn the various methods used the produce Añana Salt throughout history.
To do this, you enter the salt-pans barefoot and feel the touch of the brine, you will handle the simple but useful tools employed by the salt-makers and finally you will take your own salt home with you.
This activity is designed for both school groups and families who want to have a good time together. And if the salt workshop is not enough for you, you will still have the opportunity to continue enjoying the Salt Spa.
