Salt Valley + Tasting

The visit “Salt Valley + Tasting” is the ideal activity for those who come to Añana for the first time and, in addition to wanting to know the salt mines, their importance and the recovery and production works, want to discover the secrets of Añana Salt, considered by experts as one of the best salts in the world. The salt of the Salt Valley has long seduced the most prestigious chefs, who use it in their creations and promote it all over the world.

The tasting is carried out with a methodology specially developed by the Sensory Analysis Laboratory of the University of the Basque Country (LASEHU). This test evaluates in a simple and pleasant way, but also with professionalism, the appearance and olfactory and taste sensations of the different types of salt from the Salt Valley: Mineral Salt, Salt Flower Flakes, Liquid Salt and Chuzo.

The tasting includes an analysis of the Mineral Salt varieties that combine with spices such as cayenne, garlic, Provençal herbs and wine.
