Santa Catalina Botanical Garden

The joint visit to the Salt Valley of Añana and the Botanical Garden of Santa Catalina will allow you to discover new creative ways of relationship between humans and nature.

The Salt Valley is a cultural and natural salt landscape more than 7,000 years old in the process of recovery to restore its sustainability. Under an approach open to the public, visitors of all ages and groups can enjoy a guided tour that is a unique experience. They will have the opportunity to learn about the history, architecture, biodiversity and the way Añana Salt is produced, benefiting at the end of the visit from the therapeutic effects of salt water in the Salt Spa.

The Botanical Garden of Santa Catalina is the result of the perfect union between architecture, history and nature that is coming back to life thanks to an ambitious Master Plan. Located on the route to the Salt Valley and only twelve kilometers from Vitoria-Gasteiz, visitors can discover how more than five hundred species from the five continents have adapted to the beautiful ruins of a palace-convent with more than seven centuries of history, creating an unusual built landscape that is constantly transforming with the rhythm of the seasons.

Come out and awaken your environmental conscience by visiting these unusual landscapes converted by humans into sustainable spaces for production, recreation, conservation and encounters with nature.
