Marqués de Riscal

The joint visit to the Añana Salt Valley and the Wine City of Marqués de Riscal will immerse you in a world of vivid sensations where the beauty of the landscapes intermingle with the taste of one of the best salts and wines in the world.

The Salt Valley is a cultural and natural salt landscape more than 7,000 years old in the process of recovery to restore its sustainability. Under an approach open to the public, visitors of all ages and groups can enjoy a guided tour that is a unique experience. They will have the opportunity to learn about the history, architecture, biodiversity and the way Añana Salt is produced, benefiting at the end of the visit from the therapeutic effects of salt water in the Salt Spa.

The City of Wine, just 75 km from Añana, is a project of the Heirs of Marqués de Riscal that marks a before and after in the way of understanding the world of wine. The complex, located in Elciego (Álava), consists of the old Marqués de Riscal winery (1858), one of the oldest in Rioja, as well as a new building designed by the Canadian architect, Frank O. Gehry.

In addition to the Hotel and Spa, there are two exclusive restaurants advised by the Riojan chef, Francis Paniego, ambassador of Añana Salt with a Michelin star, where you can taste the pairing that comes from mixing the Mineral Salt and Salt Flower of the Salt Valley with the renowned wines of the Alavesa winery.
